News in Brief
As SOLiTHOR’s battery technology becomes more innovative, safe and efficient, its latest advancement is to join the Maritime Battery Forum which was established in order to promote new and efficient energy storage technologies in the maritime industry. SOLiTHOR’s all-solid-state lithium metal battery technology meets that requirement as it is safer and has higher energy density than conventional lithium-ion batteries, making it extremely appealing to the maritime sector where safety is key.
By joining the Maritime Battery Forum (MBF), SOLiTHOR hopes to enhance its understanding of the maritime market’s battery demands whilst keeping the key players in the maritime battery sector informed on the developments, as they happen, of SOLiTHOR’s all-solid-state lithium metal technology as it progresses towards commercialization. SOLiTHOR also hopes to have the opportunity to collaborate with pack makers, integrators and/or ship builders.
By joining MBF, SOLiTHOR is keen to make members aware that there is a very real alternative to lithium-ion batteries – especially for the maritime sector. SOLiTHOR’s rechargeable all-solid-state lithium battery technology is a much-needed improvement to maritime applications. The inherent safety of its nano-SCE solid electrolyte eliminates the risk of fire and explosions. Faster charging times also results in a shorter downtime and turnaround which is crucial.
